Atlantic Red Snapper Season 2026

In 2026 recreational fishing is allowed to keep red snapper from May 22,2026 through June 20,2026 and the Weekends of October 2-4, 9-11 & 16-18.

Each boat is allowed one Red Snapper per person (excluding the Captain & mate if it is a charter).

NO, you can keep any size Red Snapper during the season in Federal waters.

Yes, you can catch a Red Snapper on a standard 6 hour trip, but they will be on the smaller size and as the season goes on these fish will become more scarce as the local reefs are fished out.

We offer two options if you really want to catch the larger Red Snapper. First, would be to book a longer trip. Going with a 10 or 12 hour trip will allow for more time to get to deeper water and fish for the larger Red Snapper. Second, would be to stick with a 6 hour or 8 hour trip but with a focus on going and getting Red Snapper. This type of trip will incur a fuel surcharge as we will be going deeper and farther out than a normal 6 hour trip and it will allow for less overall fishing time.

The truth is if you want to catch a large Red Snapper you will need to get to deeper water, especially as the season goes on. And booking a longer trip we can get out to that deeper water to get the larger Red Snapper as well as a myriad of other fish that we probably wouldn’t catch on a normal 6 hour charter.
